RESULTS AND COMMENTS FROM SATURDAY OCTOBER 16 and 23, 2021
GIRLS U15
Saturday October 16
Our girls tried their best but came short in a 2-1 loss to the Scorpions. Lady Cobras took 25 shots on goal but could only manage 1 goal. Once again Natalie Ibarra our goalkeeper has proven that she has control of the box stopping 30 shots on goal.
The midfielders and defense steeped up this game given the high temperature on the field. The only score for the Cobras came from left winger # 13 Aneyli Velasques at the 75thminute.
There is still a lot of work to do but we are confident that our ladies will continue to improve each week and learn from their mistakes.
Saturday October 23
This was a game for the books. Our girls have been taught and put through a valuable lesson of team work and discipline, not only on the field but also to implement these skills academically. Our ladies were put to the test but did not back down from the challenge presented to them. This was an intense game that really showed their dedication and love for the game of soccer. The weather brought a slight down pour at the beginning of the first half. Our girls are really starting to move the ball well and making better decisions down the field. The game ended in a 0-0 tie with the defense doing a great job.
The Lady Cobras had 6 shots on goal to Ft Myers Beach 10.
Once again great job by our goalkeeper for continuing to make outstanding saves.
Great job girls!
BOYS U19
Saturday October 16
The boys traveled to Miami Dade College to play the Miami Strikers. The team moved the ball well throughout the game and had several opportunities but did not capitalize. The half ended in a 1-1 tie after Ricky Lopez caught the goalkeeper out of his area and struck a perfect kick into the lower corner of the goal.
The team came alive after the second water break as they netted three goals
( Francisco Jorcely, and Job Choute 2 ) for a 4-1 victory
Saturday October 23
The boys hosted the U19 College Dreamers in a very tight contest at home at The Immokalee Sports Complex. The game was decided by a penalty kick given to the Dreamers early in the second half. It was a tough game and the team showed character playing against a very talented opponent. The score ended 1-0. The Cobras still remain on top of the league with a 4-2 record.
BOYS U12
Saturday October 23
The team played a very strong game and dominated for most of the contest. # 4 Eli scored several goals and had a great passing game. These boys are getting better as the season progresses.
BOYS AND GIRL U8
This team is comprised of 5 boys and one young lady. This team has not lost a game yet and have won all their contests by at least 7 goals.
This past Saturday they only had 3 players which had to be on the field for the full 40 minutes. It didn’t seem to bother them as they beat the Scorpions by 5 goals. Congratulations to the team and coaching staff.
